Client: In 2018, UNC Greensboro’s MA in Liberal Studies rebranded as the MA in Applied Arts & Sciences. The program’s applied integrative approach fuses the study of the arts and sciences with methodologies encouraging social innovation and collaborative creativity.
Objective: As a newly renamed program, the MA in Applied Arts & Sciences’ new name aimed to take this program away from its liberal arts roots and to emphasize its practical, highly transferable skills. The website design needed to demonstrate that this liberal-arts program was not only interesting but practical. As such, it needed to be both high-energy and informative.
Challenges: With the new name came a brand overhaul. As the first brand asset to be created, this website was created with no brand precedent. The branding used here ended up informing later program assets such as display ads.
