UNC Greensboro: 125th Anniversary Website

Role: Designer, Researcher

Client: UNC Greensboro (UNCG) is a public research university located in North Carolina. Established in 1891, UNCG has an impressive history from its origins as an all women’s school, to its status today as one of North Carolina’s most diverse universities. In 2016, UNCG celebrated its 125th anniversary.

Objective: Design a responsive website for UNCG’s 125th anniversary that showcases the university’s rich history, current initiatives, upcoming events, and “next giant steps.” Seamlessly meld full-color contemporary imagery with historical assets from the UNCG Library’s archives (e.g. black-and-white photos and videos, interviews, etc.) to create an engaging and informative experience for current students, alumni of all ages, potential donors, and the greater Greensboro community.

Challenges: This high-profile website required high levels of inter-departmental collaboration, consensus among numerous stakeholders, and an atypically-tight design timeline.
