Client: The Division of Online Learning for UNC Greensboro, UNCG Online partners with faculty and academic units to develop and market high-quality online courses and degree programs.
Objective: As the COVID-19 pandemic depressed the national mood, UNCG Online decided to design a lighthearted and eye-catching spring marketing campaign based around common American clichés. This “cliché campaign” targeted awareness-, suspect-, and prospect-level audiences using digital and out-of-home design assets.
Challenges: As potential students were inundated by stressful pandemic-related news and adjusting to a new normal, it was essential to avoid a campaign that was too serious.
